After careful consideration the Board of Trustees have decided that Waimahia Intermediate will be closed tomorrow and Tuesday (13th & 14th February).

This decision is made with the safety of students and staff in mind and not taken lightly. It is based on advice from Auckland Emergency Management (Civil Defence) and with the strong recommendation of the Ministry of Education.

We know that this will be disruptive for whānau, students and staff and apologise for any inconvenience caused. There will be no distance/online learning provided, but students can still read, play card or boardgames with others in the family and practice their basic facts. 

Although we don’t yet know what the weather will actually be like over the next two days our school board and leadership team will continue to actively monitor the current weather event closely. We will continue to send regular updates via email, school loop app, facebook and on our website.

For your own safety please continue to monitor and follow all advice from Auckland Emergency Management.
